Clearly, my mom hasn't kept up with this..
As you can see, my mom was not very good at attending to her blog...so I had to take it away from her!!
Hello world, my name is Piper. Here's a little background info for ya: I am mostly lab, but a little bit of basset hound too! My father was a great big yellow lab named Clifford!! I don't really remember my mom too well, though. I know she was half lab and half basset, but my brothers and sisters and I were taken away from her as soon as we were old enough. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City! Wait, did I mention I had 11 siblings?! Yep, we all ran around the backyard of my first home until my Mom and Dad came one day and I just couldn't resist!! They were so cute and snuggly looking. They came and sat in the yard with all of us pups and I just ran right over. I chose them!! They picked me right up, headed out to their car and off we went down the highway!!! Oh my gosh, let me tell you, I did not like that one bit!! I didn't really understand what was going on and I started to cry! I cried the whole ride back to Isola Bella, our apartment in OKC for the summer.
My parents were living in Oklahoma for the summer, while my dad trained for his new career. Good thing, otherwise I might still be in that backyard with all those crazy brother and sister puppies--and the electric fence that Clifford's father set up with some wire and car battery to keep us in the yard!! It was NOT cool. Also, we had to drink from this big trough full of muddy water. It was muddy from my father Clifford laying in it. Gross! AND I had the WORST case of fleas and a belly full of worms!! I guess, considering the cramped conditions and the lack of attention my first "family" gave me, I'm considered a rescue. That's cool I guess. (Rescue Mutts Rule!) It's pretty cool to rescue a pup like me! I wish more people would take in orphan pups. **hint hint**
Anyway, my first night in my new home was very rrruff! My mom and I were up all night because I was so sad to be away from Clifford and my siblings. But, mom stayed up all night with me. We stayed out on the couch, while dad slept in the bedroom, because he had to work early in the morning. Mom was so nice to me. She told me I didn't need to be afraid, but I was still upset.
They gave me my very own toys, a soft bed, and even my own name!....did I mention I'm named after an airplane?? Yep, dad's an airplane freak. He works for the FAA. He says he controls airplanes. That means he...actually I don't really get it, but hey, my mom and I get plenty of cool treats and stuff, so that's pretty sweet!! But, yeah, I also have a brother now named Radar. We'll get into that mess a lil later. (Noone asked me if I was cool with getting a brother! I was pretty used to being an only child. Then, wham, we have to go and rescue STUPID. I call him stupid sometimes. That's probably not very nice, but oh well!) So, yep, it's me, my mom, my dad, and stupid, eh, Radar.
So that's just a little background info. I've got soo many stories to tell about that summer in OKC before my brother came along. I had the bestest friends ever there, Bentley and Brody! They are 2 super cool french bulldogs who were my neighbors. Their mom was in OKC for FAA school too! They taught me everything I know about being social. I can't wait to tell you all about them. I also have a coool new neighbor now named Corbin! (**blush, he's my boyfriend. He's an all american mutt! He's so handsome.) I'll tell you some cool stories about him too! Oh ya and I have an uncle named Cooper who's a St. Bernard!! .. and another uncle named Destin, who's a great big yellow lab just like my father!
Well, I could just keep going but I'm gettin kinda tired and my brother keeps biting my legs. I guess he wants the laptop to check his dogbook, and update his status, or something stupid. Alright, ladies and dawgs, hope you enjoyed my intro. I'm headed outside now for my last trip out before bed time. I'll be ready to come right back in, but I'm sure I'll have to wait until my brother's done chasing moths. BROTHERS!
Make sure you check back for more updates. I'll tell you about my cool summer in our new house, and did I mention we're going back to Oklahoma again in 2 weeks? Yup! I'll have so many adventures to tell you about. Goodnight y'all!
