Greetings from Oklahoma City, OK
Hey y'all! I'm typing with my best southern accent inner voice!! :)
Sorry it's been so long since the last update. I've had lots going on!
First, before I get into the fact that I'm in OKLAHOMA again where I was born, let me tell you about the super cool thing I did with my parents and Radar before we left.. we went to a drive in movie!!! It was so much fun! We watched Toy Story 3 and Eat, Pray, Love from the car! We got some yummmy treats and bones to chomp on during the movie too! My mom even fed us pupcorn!!
...fast forward 25 excruciating hours in the car, and here we are in OKC! Radar and I mostly slept the whole way. It was pretty nice to catch up on all those ZZZ's. We also stayed in a hotel 2 nights in a row. Radar hadn't ever done this before cuz hes a rookie, but I'm much more experienced in the world so this was not my first king size hotel bed! Mom and Dad also planned out some stops at the dog parks on the way. We got to run at such a cool dog park in Dayton, OH. Check it out: http://www.dogparkusa.com/ohio/montgomery-county-bark-park-dayton. If you are ever driving thru, make sure to stop!
We also get to go to an awesome park here in OKC which actually has a dog beach and lake to swim in! LOOK at this place: http://www.dogparkusa.com/oklahoma/okc-paw-park-and-dog-beach. There's a park here at the apartments (myisolabella.com) too, but it's basically just a small fence area. By the time Radar and I get there we're so hot we just wanna come home anyway!
We also went to Texas last weekend! We went to Ft. Worth to visit our Aunt Sheila and cousin Brittany. This was the first time we met them and got to see their brand new house. It was sooo nice. There was so much room to run and hide. BUT would you believe my stupid brother pooped on her rug right after we went inside? BOYS. I don't know what the heck is wrong with that kid. Mom and Dad took us into the grass first before we ever went in. Boys just don't get it. Oh well, at least he was not a repeat offender!
So that pretty much is the short story of it all.. moms been hoggin the computer to do work from home.
I'll update again later if I ever get a chance to grab the laptop...mom's comin' back now, gotta go!

Happy Weekend!
Hello again. It's the weekend. I love weekends because mom is home.. so Radar and I can go outside as much as we want to! So let me recap the highlight of last week.. We went to the Crossings (it's a park) on Thurs. night to meet up with some other dogs and their mom: Corbin and his mom Jenn (our neighbors/friends); Emmett (Corbin's twin brother from another mother) and his mom Heather; and a new girl named Maggie Mae (a boxer --the boys met her through their blog, not sure what her mom's name was.) Oh ya, Radar and my mom and dad came too. Mine was the only dad there. I'm glad he came because I love when both my parents come...I'm daddy's girl. Of course, though, this means Radar gets to come too, but oh well. Maybe some day I'll get some only child time again!
So ya, anyway, we met at the park and went for a walk. Then we hung out in the grass near the cow field and got to smell each other up close and play a little. It's tough to play on leashes though. My mom dropped mine and I got to wander around on my own cuz I'm old enough to do that now! Dad worries that I'll run off, but mom knows I'm cool. I'm not gonna go anywhere I shouldn't, unless of course, my nose gets the best of me! (don't forget I'm 1/4 Basset Hound!!) Radar doesn't get to be loose at all!! He thinks he's a stupid sled dog and always needs to pull and run fast and chase things. Helloo stupid, we don't even own a sled! I wish he'd smarten up cuz I'd love to be able to just follow mom around out in the front yard and stuff...but nooo I can't cuz heee's always gotta come too. After the park, we were exhausted. We came home and fell right asleep.
Since Thurs, we've just been chillin at home. We play rough in the back yard, then come in and nap. Sleep, eat, chill, play, repeat. Life is good. This week, we're probably going to be very busy though. We gotta get ready for a road trip! We leave next weekend for Oklahoma! I never thought I'd go back there again, but Dad's gotta go back to school one more time. Mom didn't think she was going to be able to go, so I didn't think Radar and I would be going either. It was pretty sad to think we wouldn't be seein dad for such a long time, but then my mom's boss said she could go!! Saaweeet. I freakin love car rides! I may change my mind though after this one cuz Radar is a total seat hog. We're takin mom's car though, so at least we've got the long floor to lay on too.. no hump in the middle. It's almost like bunk beds! I'll just kick stupid off the seat, or trick him into thinkin its waay more comfortable down there on the rubber mat. HAHA.
Well, that's enough typin for now. My pads are tired already.. and it's Sunday so I don't wanna over-exert myself. Mom says Sunday's are chill days. She's got all the windows open today and there's a nice breeze comin in the front window. I couldn't be happier. I love to fall asleep on the window sill. Alright, eyes.. are.. getting... heavy. Blog y'all later! --p.b.

Clearly, my mom hasn't kept up with this..
As you can see, my mom was not very good at attending to her blog...so I had to take it away from her!!
Hello world, my name is Piper. Here's a little background info for ya: I am mostly lab, but a little bit of basset hound too! My father was a great big yellow lab named Clifford!! I don't really remember my mom too well, though. I know she was half lab and half basset, but my brothers and sisters and I were taken away from her as soon as we were old enough. I was born and raised in Oklahoma City! Wait, did I mention I had 11 siblings?! Yep, we all ran around the backyard of my first home until my Mom and Dad came one day and I just couldn't resist!! They were so cute and snuggly looking. They came and sat in the yard with all of us pups and I just ran right over. I chose them!! They picked me right up, headed out to their car and off we went down the highway!!! Oh my gosh, let me tell you, I did not like that one bit!! I didn't really understand what was going on and I started to cry! I cried the whole ride back to Isola Bella, our apartment in OKC for the summer.
My parents were living in Oklahoma for the summer, while my dad trained for his new career. Good thing, otherwise I might still be in that backyard with all those crazy brother and sister puppies--and the electric fence that Clifford's father set up with some wire and car battery to keep us in the yard!! It was NOT cool. Also, we had to drink from this big trough full of muddy water. It was muddy from my father Clifford laying in it. Gross! AND I had the WORST case of fleas and a belly full of worms!! I guess, considering the cramped conditions and the lack of attention my first "family" gave me, I'm considered a rescue. That's cool I guess. (Rescue Mutts Rule!) It's pretty cool to rescue a pup like me! I wish more people would take in orphan pups. **hint hint**
Anyway, my first night in my new home was very rrruff! My mom and I were up all night because I was so sad to be away from Clifford and my siblings. But, mom stayed up all night with me. We stayed out on the couch, while dad slept in the bedroom, because he had to work early in the morning. Mom was so nice to me. She told me I didn't need to be afraid, but I was still upset.
They gave me my very own toys, a soft bed, and even my own name!....did I mention I'm named after an airplane?? Yep, dad's an airplane freak. He works for the FAA. He says he controls airplanes. That means he...actually I don't really get it, but hey, my mom and I get plenty of cool treats and stuff, so that's pretty sweet!! But, yeah, I also have a brother now named Radar. We'll get into that mess a lil later. (Noone asked me if I was cool with getting a brother! I was pretty used to being an only child. Then, wham, we have to go and rescue STUPID. I call him stupid sometimes. That's probably not very nice, but oh well!) So, yep, it's me, my mom, my dad, and stupid, eh, Radar.
So that's just a little background info. I've got soo many stories to tell about that summer in OKC before my brother came along. I had the bestest friends ever there, Bentley and Brody! They are 2 super cool french bulldogs who were my neighbors. Their mom was in OKC for FAA school too! They taught me everything I know about being social. I can't wait to tell you all about them. I also have a coool new neighbor now named Corbin! (**blush, he's my boyfriend. He's an all american mutt! He's so handsome.) I'll tell you some cool stories about him too! Oh ya and I have an uncle named Cooper who's a St. Bernard!! .. and another uncle named Destin, who's a great big yellow lab just like my father!
Well, I could just keep going but I'm gettin kinda tired and my brother keeps biting my legs. I guess he wants the laptop to check his dogbook, and update his status, or something stupid. Alright, ladies and dawgs, hope you enjoyed my intro. I'm headed outside now for my last trip out before bed time. I'll be ready to come right back in, but I'm sure I'll have to wait until my brother's done chasing moths. BROTHERS!
Make sure you check back for more updates. I'll tell you about my cool summer in our new house, and did I mention we're going back to Oklahoma again in 2 weeks? Yup! I'll have so many adventures to tell you about. Goodnight y'all!

new to this. news to you.
i've decided to start blogging... or web logging as it stands for. it's a way to share whats going on in life with my friends and family. it's also going to allow me to look back and say, remember when..
[right now my husband is cooking dinner. he's also singing an old seal song for some reason. lol. i'm watching him over my laptop screen]
so let's catch up..
zachary & jennifer met in 2006 while working for delta air lines. beginning just as coworkers, then friends..the connection grew stronger. we made eachother happy. it was effortless and easy. we connected on many levels. we talked about life. about our hopes and dreams. we established a foundation. our values, our interests. a year later, we were engaged.
christmas eve, dec 24, 2007, we exchanged gifts. we were supposed to have a budget. as we opened, i found hand-knitted red mittens and matching scarf! i had talked about wanting these and he had enlisted the help of a co-worker, sandy. i instantly threw them on my hands and to my suprise there was something inside!! it was the most beautiful ring. white gold with three large diamonds, and diamonds down the band also. fast forward to may 15, 2009. friday evening wedding at st. patrick's church in enfield, ct, with the reception following at school street bistro in westfield, ma. it was the most wonderful day. our honeymoon was a cruise to the bahamas and key west.
a week later, we were off to oklahoma city, ok for the summer. we were chasing zach's dream. he was going to train to become an air traffic controller. and i was going to enjoy some time off. while in okc, we decided to get a puppy.. enter piper. she's a black lab/basset hound mix. we got her at 9 weeks old. she and i spent a lot of time together in okc............(cliffs notes version)........in september we moved to the albany, ny area where zach would be stationed. we then rescued another pup... enter radar. hes a husky/australian sheperd mix.
bringing you up to date.. piper is 8 mo's old today. her birthday is may 14, 2009, the day before we got married. radar is approx. 5 mo's old, but since we rescued him, the exact dates are a little vague. we like to think he was born aug 19 which was my father's birthday. :)
so here we are living happily ever after in watervliet, ny.
that's enough for now.
